HGI (Hot Dip Galvanized Iron & Steel Strip) is Galvanized Steel strip of HR, that is, HGI is one of the surface treatments as galvanizing HR after pickling to prevent iron element from corrosion.

The main characteristic of HGI is its enhancement of the hardness and economical efficiency by iron¡¯s merits, while avoiding scale or rust by iron¡¯s demerits. HGI has its best economical efficiency as it has high corrosion resistance in spite of long-term usage and it lasts long period time preventing from corrosion.

HGI is widely used for automotive parts and home appliances, customizing spangle (Zinc¡¯s flower-shaped) and other specification.

1. Corrosion Resistance : HGI shows high corrosion resistance due to its own electronic chemical protection, physical protection and atmospheric corrosion resistance.

2. Formability£º Various processing is possible. As HGI has its excellent adherability and respectively thin Galvanized-Layer, Galvanized-Layer is not likely desquamated.

¡Ø Yet, its weldability is deteriorated because Zinc surrounds electrodes. This tends to be higher as amounts of galvanized-zinc inHGIeases.
1.

If drying of HGI is delayed due to rain or dew, it may cause white rust. To avoid white rust, the products should not be piled up one on another and should be well ventilated indoors. Yet, the product should be placed not directly on the ground with no moisture place during outdoor storage. When raining, wrap it up completely with protective covers and remove the covers when the weather becomes clean again.
¡Ø If possible, avoid unloading when raining.

2.

Although Zinc is flexible metal and weaker than iron, galvanized Zinc on the surface is not likely desquamated. However, if strong shocks are given, galvanized-layer may be damaged or desquamated, causing corrosion trouble due to its exposure.
Therefore, special care is necessary when handling especially transporting. For example, try to avoid collision with HGIane by each acute angle or acute angle to one side. In addition, consider no deformation caused by chain and other when moving.

3.

Avoid contact with seawater during ocean transporting and storage.
